Dear Calvin Family:
We are almost through our first week of Ohio's "Stay at Home" order.
I have enjoyed hearing what makes you smile, who runs family errands, and what you have found at the grocery store
(fresh produce and meat, finally), or not found (t.p., pasta, flour).
ELECTRONIC / VIRTUAL WORSHIP:
The internet was overwhelmed last week with churches worshiping electronically.
Ours was not the only service clogged in the digital bottleneck.
This week will again try to begin the service 11:30, streaming live.
Bridgeway is trying some new technology in their service; if it works well, we will likely also try it also.
So… stay tuned!
SEND YOUR PRAYER REQUESTS FOR SUNDAY:
Please send prayer requests for Sunday to me by calling, texting or emailing.
he session continues to meet via conference call as needed to ensure the work of church continues.
The session reluctantly accepted the resignation of elder Cyndi Younger effective April 1.
The session is deeply indebted to Cyndi for her 19 years as either an Elder or Clerk of Session
and expresses their gratitude for her service.
CHURCH OFFICE CLOSED FOR NOW:
ith Ohio's "Stay at Home" order in effect, Laury and I are both trying to do the majority of our work from home as is.
You can reach me by email, text, or by calling my cell phone.
TITHES AND OFFERINGS:
Calvin contributions can be dropped of at the church or made by mail or
ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING:
Sharing and caring for others has always been one of Calvin's strengths.
The Easter season is One Great Hour of Sharing time.
Although we cannot meet face-to-face, we can continue our mission sharing legacy by supporting this special offering.
You can mail your contribution with "OGHS" on the memo line, drop it in the church mailbox
or use PayPal.
EASTER FLOWER MISSION OPPORTUNITY:
As an alternative to Easter flowers in an otherwise empty sanctuary,
this year the Session will offer a single "corporate" lily symbolically placed on or near the communion table.
We encourage making memorial, honorary, or celebratory donations to our Easter lily; all proceeds will support our mission work.
You can mail a check with "Easter Flower" on the memo line,
or use PayPal.
While we are under "Stay at Home" I will be reaching out to you on Tuesdays with a Reflection
and on Fridays with "news."
On Wednesdays you will receive a "Looking Forward to Sunday" email with the bulletin for Sunday's service.
The Caller will resume when we are again able to gather.
THE CONNECTIONAL CHURCH:
PC-USA, at a national, synod, and presbytery level are reaching out with information and resources to help support churches
during this time. We appreciate their encouragement and prayers.
Please continue to stay in touch with, and support, one another.
Our prayers go out to those who are ill and the healthcare providers who attend them.
Love and Peace to you,
